Task Force Priorities

The overarching focus of the Task Force is preventive health for women.  Our initial focus has been on cervical cancer for two main reasons: 1) Cervical cancer is almost always preventable, and 2) The recent introduction of the HPV vaccine has spurred a national dialogue on this disease, giving us the opportunity to educate women and adolescents about screening and HPV vaccination.

The Task Force will also be focusing on issues related to sexually transmitted infections, as well as family planning. Other issues of interest to the Task Force include: heart disease, osteoporosis, diabetes, breast cancer, obesity, ovarian cancer, sexually transmitted infections, family planning, and depression/mental health.
